The estate is directly located in the local area named La Madonnella, 12 hectares in size with a total of 10 hectares of DOC vine and vineyard.
Incorporated you will find 4 Ha of aglianico which includes 1 Ha for the aglianico cru, Vigna Pezza la Corte and 2 Ha of falanghina which
includes 1Ha for the cru, Vigna del Monaco Morto. The remaining include 4 Ha of Greco, 1 Ha of Coda di Volpe, and 1 Ha of
the Piedirosso red. Ocone harvests grapes from another 25 hectares within the local area of Ponte and other neighbouring areas -
always from sloped vineyards at least 200 to 400 metres above sea level. We use prevalently biological fertilisers. Our wine is made in “purezza”
and classified with the DOC Taburno denomination.
The Vigna Pezza la Corte vineyard was chosen for its particularly limestone soil where this selection is dedicated to this Aglianico cru and the
Vigna del Monaco vineyard was chosen for its tuff soil where this selection is dedicated to this Falanghina cru. OCA BIANCA complete the
white wines range. It is an IGT from Benevento area, mostly made of Fiano grapes with a little addition of Coda di Volpe and other
local grape variety. With great precision and care, from the rigorous selection of grapes of chosen vineyards to the relentless work in the cantina,
DIOMEDE was created, named in dedication to the mythical founder of Benevento. A new entry to the Ocone portfolio, with its first vintage
being 2000, a grand Piedirosso, CALIDONIO, named after the mythical wild boar, another symbol for Benevento.
The main grape is Piedirosso, again selected from various vineyards and blended with a small selection of Aglianico from vineyards
best positioned at the estate. SPUMANTE BRUT is the first sparkling wine produced in the Campania region, made from a selection of
local white grapes and according to traditional methods. Both distillates, Acquavite PERCIO' and Grappa LUCENTE, are made entirely within
the Campania region and according to both traditional methods using modern technology.
